Sexual Predators in My Area

The purpose of a national sexual offender registry is to notify the public of the whereabouts of sexual predators. Each state is required by law to keep a registry of sexual predators, and help parents find answers to the question, "where can I find information on sexual predators in my area?" The purpose of this registry is to keep the public informed and raise awareness of public safety. Upon their release from prison, sexual predators must register with their local law agency. Their names and current reported addresses are then placed into a state maintained database. These registries are continuously updated as more sexual predators register, and as they move from residence to another.
