October 6, 2006, Newsletter Issue #21: Ohio Sex Offender Registry

Tip of the Week

Ohio sex offender registries require sexual predators and habitual sex offenders to register with sex offender registry. Sexual predators are by definition people who are convicted of sexually violent offenses. Habitual sex offenders are people who have been convicted of one or more sexually oriented offenses.
Information such as DNA samples, criminal history records, fingerprints, photos, and vehicle registration information are collected and found on the Ohio sex offender state registry. Any convicted sex offender must register with the local law agency within five days of entering any county and within five days of changing to a new address.
Public access to these records can be viewed online.
